C E Colonel J. W. P. Robertson,: O USMC the first Marine to • become Deputy to the President and Chief of Staff at the Naval O War College, will be guest 3 7 speaker at the next Officer 1)6 'Indoctrination School (WS) t graduation at NETC. The graduation will he held Friday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in Z Perry Hall auditorium on the NETC campus. OIS is one of seven schools operated by NETC. The 40 graduates scheduled to complete the six-week course include 26 females and 14 males. The females and one male are in the Nurse Corps. The other males include nine lawyers, one civil engineer, and three nuclear power in-structors.. Six of the graduates have prior enlisted service in the Army, Marine Corps, or Navy. Seven also are military "juniors" (those with parents with prior military service). Colonel Robertson, who assumed his present *Rion last June 20, is a former Navy enlisted man and a former second lieutenant in the Air Force.

officer prior to being honorably discharged in August, 1946. Upon his graduation from Virginia Military Institute in 1950, Colonel Robertson was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Air Force. Called up on active duty during the Korean War in January, 1951, he won navigator wings and served in this country and Europe. He transferred to the Marine Corps in June, 1953, accepting a regular commission as a first lieutenant. The colonel's various com-mand and staff assignments include battalion command of two different infantry ballations, one of which par-ticipated in combat in Vietnam. He holds the Silver Star Medal, Legion of Merit with Combat V, Bronze Star with Combat V, and several Vietnamese awards and medals.
